This may also come with searches on mobile smart phones. I have been thinking about how that many people are starting to look online more from their phones. Certainly the sound technology meshes well with phones.

I’d imagine the the voice algo would have to somehow lump “like” terms into one meaning….did you mean….? What do you mean, what did you mean, whada ya mean , etc…

My habits for sure would change if I could just talk to search. I for one would love to have voice command on Google’s home page.

I could hear myself now…. “Google…find me all pdf files for fiber optic splicing”

Of course using the word “Google” would throw the search results off and possibly only return documents from Google’s own domain on fiber splicing, leaning the tables in Google’s favor.

I just started using G Voice a few weeks back. I had to get a new phone so I got a HTC Thunderbolt. Google Voice search rocks. No more typing.

Playing with terms, “Bring me up New York City” returns results from yelp about a cafe Pick Me Up in New York. I imagine the reason for Yelp results is the search function is working in conjunction with geo locating?

Perfect for small business!

Inspired by Mashable’s article I voice searched the term, “Directions to Empire State Building New York”. 1 day, 6hours and 57minutes.

Sounds about right.

Being the voice search is it’s infancy the results are a bit peculiar.

Using one of your examples, “I wanna see Al Gore” returns – I wanna see Jesse Ventura take on Al Gore… interesting.

I like voice search…bring it on Hal!

Thanks Oli. I’m excited on a daily basis just how well this partnership is working out. I’ve known my business partner for 12 years, and his wife for 15. So I’m at an advantage with plenty of experience going into this one.

I’ve got a hunch that this time next year I’ll still be feeling the same way too.

We haven’t really discussed with anyone about WordPress installations. The CMS we’re using has a blog in it. I’m just starting to use it now. But if anything comes up I’ll let you know!

Business partnerships can definitely be a minefield, but they can sometimes be worth fighting for!

If you need any wordpress design done though, give me a call, had a lot of practice at that recently and I have rediscovered my love for webdesign, and have realized that I probably enjoy it a lot more than SEO work.

Backlinks is hugely important. You can’t just throw up a piece of content and expect it to rank well in serps on the content alone. The robots that scour the web looking for new content cannot tell if it is quality content or not, like a human can. They have to use other factors to determine if it is good content, and how much it is linked to is a pretty big factor.

Link building is not a waste. In fact off page factors account for 80% of a pages total rank.

Your just going about your link campaign all wrong

Darkside does build links whether he realizes it or not – but he does is very naturally and is not aggressive at all. Usually forums are where I see most of his links originate. He has also been know to use an RSS feed in his user profile.

The key thing I’ve noticed is a lot of his posts are years old – aged links – the best kind.
